When
compared to the European Economic Community, European Union is different kind
of animal altogether. Greek crisis and recession has hit the home which is not
liked by Europeans. Europeans are responding skeptically to the EU solutions
and as people continue to reject Grexit, a vast majority of population hide
behind Eurocepticism or socially more acceptable. Amid all these, refugee
crisis has suddenly appeared as the very tailwind to this Eurocepticism and
thus 2 million refugees are in tatters and will be reaching Europe by the end
of 2016. This is now seen as unforeseen economic burden by European Union
nations. The EU migrant crisis is
hitting the headlines of major news channels on the internet and on TV. All
over Europe there is a rising opposition for the migrants.
The mission
of the World Bank is carved on the stones at Washington headquarters that the
dream is ending poverty around the world.
It is great to learn that over the past few decades, poverty has reduced to a
significant extent. The world has now attained its Millennium development
target by cutting poverty of the 1990 rate to almost half in the year
2015-2016. But then, unfortunately despite this achievement, there are still
many people living below the poverty line. Even the progress has been uneven
after the curtailing of poverty. More and more people residing in rural areas
are given education opportunities since that can have a direct impact on the
country’s economy and its attempt to eradicate poverty. Access to quality
health care facilities, good schools or educational institutions can directly
end poverty.
